WOODPECKER COFFEE

Calling all coffee addicts! A new decent coffee shop has arrived to Jakarta! Located at the streets of Panglima Polim, Woodpecker is the place to have a relaxing time, just enjoying some good coffee.

If you know the Mangia at Panglima Polim then this is just right across it, so it's easy to find, just look for the white wall with a bird sign in front.

The place mostly has black and white color, which I think is soothing for the eye, except for their name sign that shines with a bright red neon light.

The place is relatively small but comfortable and homey, they also provide a different section of the room, which is separated by a glass door for the smokers. The chairs are really cute and unique, it looks like a deer, I just hope it's not a real animal fur though.

A little bit of nature is always good for the environment and for the air we breathe.

See this? It's the smoking area, completed with air purifier and everything. Good thing that there's no one smoking when I came here, cause truthfully, I prefer the smoking are since it has more space and sunlight.

CAFE LATTE IDR 25K

Since the definition of cafe latte and cappuccino vary from one place to another, it's important to know how they serve it: here, they put 2 shots of espresso on their caps and 1 shot on cafe latte. The blend whose origin i'm unsure of, however, is more preferable on 1 shot serving. Not the aromatic-fruity type, but it tastes decent, in a good way.

AFFOGATO IDR 20K

Affogato is considered a dessert type of coffee. For those who can't really take their coffee, this is a much preferable way to enjoy your daily dose of caffeine. The amount of ice cream here is pretty generous which is good and a decent espresso to go with it. Can't really say much about espresso poured into vanilla ice cream, better try it for yourself, I can only promise that you won't regret it.

OREO WAFFLE IDR 15K
+Strawberry (5K)
+Nutella (10K)

They only serve waffle for the foods, but let me tell you, this waffle is simply HEAVEN! With the crispy outer and chewy on the inside plus Oreo mixed into their base. Add Nutella on top with a fresh strawberry for relief and you'll get a PERFECT combination. Waffles can't get any better than this! You'll get the crunchiness of the Oreo waffle, the nutty sweet Nutella, and the refreshing sourness from the strawberries on one single bite! Yum!

Noticed that they have these cute different patterned trays? Even though it's really simple and little, once you notice, it's actually really pretty, can I take it home? :P

I wouldn't mind coming back here again, with their decent coffee and relaxing ambiance. It's a great getaway from busy schedules and tiring routine. They used close at Tuesday and open from 10 am, but on this September 2014, they've started to open from 7 am everyday, which is good news! Coffee is essential for early birds, can't start a day without a morning coffee.
