HAI DI LAO JAKARTA, GANDARIA CITY

OMGMGMGMGMG FINALLY THE RESTAURANT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR TO OPEN IS FINALLY HERE!!! SO. HAPPY. GOSH. GOD. I've been waiting for months ever since seeing their logo at Mall Taman Anggrek, and apparently their first branch opened at GANDARIA CITY! It literally just opened yesterday: November 1st 2019 and I'm such a HUGE fan of this place that I just went right away! In case you didn't know, this place is one of my favorites in Singapore (knock-knock! Have you read Sindi in Sinjiapo? There you go!) for they don't only boast taste, but also the wonderful service (they literally changed my phone's screen guard. Read the full article on that link for my full testimony!)

Ok! Since I've tried the one in Singapore so I automatically compare EVERYTHING I tried here from that wonderful experience THERE. The expectation was sky high since it's my personal favorite (imagine me being too full YET still going there every single time I visit Singapore just because it's that worth it!) In SG it'll cost you around 100 SGD per person but I assure you it's worth every penny. So how about Jakarta's branch? Let's start!

ATTARINE SENOPATI NEW MENUS

Back to Attarine! Our second time here, first time is when they've just opened and this time, for their new menu. My first impression on this place is not that good because the foods don't really suit my taste but these new menus all exceeded my expectations! Keep on reading to find out why!

THE WESTIN HOTEL JAKARTA

Hello from the 67th floor! Did you know that The Westin Hotel here is currently the tallest building in Indonesia?! Yeap, not Jakarta only but the whole Indonesia! Cool, huh? Ranging to 69th floor, the restaurant we're going to talk about today is on the 67th. What's unique about this hotel is that the lobby is actually on the 52nd floor..why? Cause the 1st - 51st floor is an office tower named Gama Tower and if we count the hotel only, it actually has only 18 floors, so technically it's the tallest building with the help of the Gama Tower..lol!

GLOSIS RESTAURANT LA MAISON BARITO

Hey there Glosis Steak lovers or if you're not, at least you must've heard of this brand. It's pretty popular among family in the old times. This is the only Glosis branch that has a breakfast menu and coffee from Common Grounds! Of course their opening hours is also different starting from 7 am to 11 pm. Wow, huh? HALAL GUYS INDONESIA - SENAYAN CITY

Yet another international brand has opened a branch in Jakarta! Yeah, this time it's the super popular Halal Guys from New York, coming to Jakarta on late January 2017 in Senayan City. To be honest I have never tried the real one in New York, so I can't really compare. Heard that in New York, they're only on a food truck but the line to get one of these is endless!

CASA DE PERI KOTA KASABLANKA

CORRELATE RESTAURANT BY CHEF JUNA

Which is why we're thankful for these kind of opportunities from these kind of restaurants! Here's SaladStop! that you'll find at Senayan City!

HURRICANE'S GRILL JAKARTA (NOBLE HOUSE)

Back again to Hurricane's Grill that first opened in Indonesia at Senopati but this time we went to their 2nd branch at Noble House, Kuningan! It's a new building, so it's not well known yet, even the lobby and parking lot is still half done when I came here. Exact location is at Kuningan's roundabout, it's on the GPS, so don't worry!

OJJU KOREAN FOOD KOTA KASABLANKA

So psyched that this cheese rolled ribs has finally landed in Jakarta!! After only having to drool from pictures that people from overseas uploaded on Instagram, either in Korea, Japan, or Thai, now my own beloved country has finally got one of these! Exact location is near Shirokuma in Kota Kasablanka and it's called Ojju, which is from GF Culinary, the same group as Marutama Ramen, Fish n Co, and Song Fa!

ASIATALE SENOPATI

Another new kid on the block at Senopati and it's called Asiatale! Located before Crematology, on the left side of the road. Just from the name, it's obvious that what cuisine it is, they're outer appearance also says it all with that red signage and Chinese font!

BAO JI CAMA

Attention all pork lovers!! This is a must read post because here, we are gonna talk all about pork! Well, not exactly all of them but mostly. From the name Bao Ji, which is obviously Chinese and I think it has got something to do with bakpao..lol! Like what I've guessed, their specialty here is bakpao. They began by opening a small shop in pop up bazaars like Brightspot and now, they have opened their very first restaurant! Yeah!!

Located at further South and that is Dharmawangsa, the place isn't that hard to find, since it's in Pelaspas Dharmawangsa, which means it's in the same building as SNCTRY, Taco Local, and But First Coffee. Inside the place, you can feel the Chinese atmosphere with all the Chinese paintings and it's pretty photogenic as well! Pretty generous amount of natural lighting can be found, so if you're looking for an OOTD spot, try this place!

Not trying to be racist but what puzzled me is the fact that they're bold enough to open a non-halal restaurant in the South area, seeing as it's usually in the North or West! Well, it's no wonder that the place was a bit deserted, at least, that's what I saw when I came here. It's totally the opposite of the crowded But First Coffee, which you can see clearly from Bao Ji, since they're just separated by a see-through glass wall! Don't worry though, cause if it's pork, no matter which part of Jakarta they decided to land, I'll totally be there!! Lol!

To lift up your view of this place, it's actually not as bad as you thought. There's still a few people dining here and mostly are foreigners!

Nothing screams Chinese restaurant than some pretty chinaware!

Doesn't it just feel like royalty when you're cutleries are made out of gold? Lol!

Like most Chinese restaurant, a set of condiments will be provided! There's this all time favorite chili, plain chili sauce, and sauteed garlic with oil!

GRILLED BELLY IDR 60K
Don't you think this just look super tempting?! Yet again, I found this dish from Instagram. It's no secret that whenever I visit a new restaurant and not knowing what to order, I'll immediately look it up in Instagram to find any interesting dish from other people's previous order. Nothing weird about that, right? :p

3 thick and glazed slices of pork! You can really taste that Asian spice and that yellow goo is actually mashed sweet potato with julienne bengkoang (don't know what it's called) in the middle. Love the overall taste, not because my favoritism over pork but because the taste is actually delicious! Even with those thick slices, the pork is still tender with some crunchy crackers and it'll taste even better with chili and sauteed garlic with oil from the condiments!

Here, they actually have steamed and toasted for the buns but unfortunately, the toasted buns are restricted to beef and prawn only, so only steamed buns for the pork!

ROAST PORK BELLY IDR 39K
I guess if you see it as IDR 39K for a pork bun than it's considered pretty overpriced but look at those thick slices of pork belly! It'll definitely change your mind once you bite into it cause this tastes amazing!

What's inside this is pretty much the same as the grilled belly dish but here you can enjoy it with a fluffy steamed buns! Yum!

PANKO PORK BELLY IDR 39K
Difference between this and the roast pork belly is that Panko is a breaded pork belly. I do admit that the flavor became way lighter than the roast one but it's still undeniably good! Just add that trusty chili and problem's solved! What blew me away is the fact that even though it's breaded and fried, the pork meat is still super tender!! *Drool*

Definitely worth every penny! Look at the size of that pork and with how good it taste..just perfect!

Don't really know why but they're closed on Tuesdays! Remember it, kay? Wouldn't want to go all the way here to find disappointment now, do we?

I'm kinda torn on whether I'm happy or not about their opening. Thrilled that there's finally a pork selling restaurant in the South, on the other hand I kinda wished that they would've opened somewhere closer to home! Well no matter what we'd still wish Bao Ji the best of luck!

WING STOP INDONESIA

Well, it's not everyday that we went to fast-foods for a proper meal but seeing as we love chicken wings, especially with yummy flavors, we decided to head to Wing Stop at Kota Kasablanka! Wing Stop here isn't a new place and they actually have many branches already but since we were at Kota Kasablanka, we decided to give the one here a try!

The place is pretty simple. A typical fast-food restaurant and it's also not that spacey. They also surprisingly got an outdoor though, so it's not as boring as you think, plus it's still pretty comfy! Like in most fast-foods, you'll need to order at the counter and then take a seat, the waiter will gladly serve the foods to you!

BOBA TEA SHAKE IDR 17K
Peach and apple.

Totally got blown away by this! We weren't really expecting anything out of it but it turns out to be very nice! Not only is it refreshing, the boba, which is a popping boba, goes really well with the drink and is absolutely decent! I'd definitely recommend this!

CRUNCHY WINGS (5 PCS) IDR 38K
Choose any 2 flavors.

For this, they have 3 choices in terms of amount, the other 2 are 7 pieces, which costs IDR 48K and 10 pieces for IDR 71K. You can either choose this, which is the usual chicken wing or you can get the boneless wings, though I think the size is totally different! Love the fact that the chicken wing's pretty big with lots of meat!

ASIAN SPICE
They totally make the right choice in making this new flavor! Well, that might just be me, since I love glazed seasonings better than dry ones and from the 4 flavors we picked, this is the only one that's glazed! I'd definitely choose this one again on my next visit!

GARLIC PARMESAN
You can really taste the cheese but I really didn't taste any garlic. Guess maybe it was because the cheese flavor is pretty strong! Though I love glazed flavors, I do admit that there's a plus point in dry flavors as well, like the fact that it's more crunchy, so I'm leaving it all to preference!

BONELESS WINGS (5 PCS) IDR 36K
Choose any 2 flavors.

Like I said before, you can clearly see the size difference! Yet this is pretty tempting, since you don't need to get down and dirty and pretty easy to eat but where's the fun in that, right? :p Oh, almost forgot to tell you that either this and the crunchy wings menu comes with a dipping sauce! You can either choose honey mustard or creamy ranch! There's also a cheddar cheese sauce but because the price is different, it's not included in the complimentary choice! :(

CAJUN
To me, this sort of tasted like barbecue, like the actual barbecue sauce. Savory and sour, though I do admit this is more sour than barbecue sauce and spicy too! It was okay but very plain and I don't think it will leave me craving for more!

LOUISIANA RUB
Another okay-ish flavor! Tasted like how fried chicken originally supposed to taste like. Not bad, yet not memorable as well, which totally shows, since I'm at lost for words as to what to say about it..lol!

We'd prefer to eat these wings without the dipping sauce, since we think it's better without it. The honey mustard is still better than the ranch though, but we bet that the cheddar cheese would be amazing! Too bad it's not included in the complimentary choices, yet we can clearly see why!
