PUBLIK MARKETTE GRAND INDONESIA

Closing the month with another restaurant from Grand Indonesia's East Mall! I'm guessing that they want to lighten up their east mall, since it used to be a bit deserted compared to west mall but now, there're so many new 'hip' restaurants here! This restaurant we're talking about today is another member of Ismaya Group located right across our last post, Nomz. Let's give a warm welcome to Publik Markette!

Ismaya Group is known for their cool concepts and I admit they're all amazing, even if the food sometimes doesn't catch up to the concept's level. Publik Markette's cool concept is another favorite of mine! If you're familiar with Ikea's canteen than this is similar to it, you grab your choices of main course to dessert in 1 place and I just found out that this concept is called Food Gallery, though here you need to grab your table number before ordering and they only use this concept in a certain time (will be explained on the bottom of this post), other than those hours, they serve by a la carte. The menu also changes everyday so that you people won't get bored!

Arriving at night, the place looks gorgeous and I bet it looks more pretty in the afternoon with natural sunlight and such!

Here's where you'll order up your meals, just like in a canteen!

One of the main courses when I visit was this beef short ribs! All the main course comes with choices of sides, like corn, Hainanese rice, cauliflower, etc, if you don't choose, they'll use the template side, for example this short ribs' template side is the Hainanese rice and the pork belly's is corn.

Salmon, anyone?

Yes, they also have my lovely Pork Belly!

Roasted Cauliflower here! Anyway, all the foods on display here are just mise en place, which means that all half cooked so it will be cooked again before they serve it, so you'll have a nice and warm meal!

Beautiful quiches are also available!

For drinks, how about this refreshing yummy cold pressed juice?

Let me briefly explain how the number thing works. At every table, there'll be a number on a stick and you have to bring that to the counter each time you're gonna order something, it's so that they know where to bring the foods to!

Other than the cold pressed, they also have this Power Smoothies that cost IDR 45K! Made from fresh fruits and vegetable, guaranteed to boost your health! My favorite is the Immunity and Happy Belly! :D

These are some foods that I didn't really try but looks so tempting that I just can't not take any photos of it! I'll let your imagination decide how it all taste!

This one is called BBQ Pulled and you have to crack that half boiled egg, so that the egg yolk will melt and cover the whole thing, then just dig in!

BEER CAN CHIX HALF IDR 105K
Delicious half chicken that I'm guessing is marinated in beer! Seasoning's perfect though it was still a bit red, which everyone knows is a big NO when it comes to chickens, so that was a disappointment and dangerous! Other than that slightly big mistake, it was all good!

BEEF SHORT RIBS IDR 155K
The highlight of today's meal!! I love ribs, especially if it's really nicely seasoned and super tender like this one! The ribs are exquisitely perfect when eaten with the chili! Really worth the price and I totally recommend this one!

CRISPY PORK BELLY IDR 155K
Even though I did say the short ribs are the highlight but this is MY HEAVEN! Perfectly crispy skin with tender meat accompanied with the perfectly grilled corn! I'm in a pork belly wonderland!! 2 pieces are definitely not enough and I gladly paid the IDR 155K for this dish! Yum!!

Since I had to leave before the event ended, I missed the whole dessert tasting!! NO!!! Guess you know what I'll be ordering on my next visit then? :D Wait for me desserts! I'm in bliss knowing that Ismaya paid attention to their food quality this time. Way to go, Ismaya, that's how you do it! Keep up the good work!!
