WHAT TO EAT IN BANDUNG

So this time we're doing something a bit different than our usual stuff! It's more of a list of places instead of just one place and it's not in Jakarta but Bandung! Because we can easily reach Bandung with a car from Jakarta, we often go there for a short getaway..lol! Well, we decided to do this to make this blog a little bit more interesting and I do hope this'll help, plus there's been quite a few request to blog about Bandung and since we usually just post it on Instagram with #LulabyspoonBandung without realizing, we already went to quite a lot of place in Bandung! These are some of them, let's check it out!

1. BUBUR ALKATERI
The name was taken from their location, since this is literally porridge that you'd find at Alkateri road..lol! Sold only with a cart, though there are some plastic chairs for us to sit. The price is super affordable, only IDR 12K per portion but you have to be there early, like 6/7 am early because they sold out super fast! You can also come by car, you can just park at the road, since it's still early, so no traffic!

2. MIE NARIPAN
Located at Jl. Naripan no. 108, Kebon Pisang. I don't really know why but it has became a mandatory for me. Every time I visited Bandung, I'd always stop by here, even though I think it's not that special! Being one of the early bird as well, this place opens at 7.30 am!

What you DO need to try is the fried meatballs!

Yamien Asin

Yamien Manis

3. MIE RICA KEJAKSAAN
You need to be a bit careful if you choose to eat this so early in the morning because it's really spicy! I'm not a big fan of spicy foods but this is too good to be missed! Be aware that parking is gonna be hard at the one in Jl. Kejaksaan no. 7, I recommend going to the one at Ruko Paskal Hypersquare. You need to try the Mie Rica, Mie Bakso Goreng Udang, and Mie Pedes Chasiu, which is my favorite!

4. BAKSO SAKUM
The highlight of this is the Dorokdok; that brown thingy there! It's a beef cracker made and goes perfectly with almost everything! You can also order the Yamien here with it's soup on the side!

5. NASI CAMPUR BINTANG
Located near Bakso Sakum, it's exact location is Jl. Kelenteng no. 40. What I usually do is take away the Bakso Sakum and eat it here with the superb Nasi Campur!

6. KEN-KEN BIGUL KITCHEN
Some type of Balinese food, my favorite is their Nasi Babi and Nasi Bigul Special! The Nasi Babi has maling, eggs, crispy pork belly, ke khian, and lapchiong, for the Nasi Bigul Special, there're satay, pork roll, lawar, and pork sausage. Opens at 7.30 am but they only serve these 2 dishes at lunch time, which is 11 am!

7. AMBOKUEH PASIRKALIKI
Located near Bakso & Sosis Pasirkaliki. It's a heaven of pork! Ambokueh is a traditional Bandung food made of rice flour and served with pork and then poured with sweet sauce! Yum!

8. NASI CAMPUR PANGGANG PASIRKALIKI
It's super close to the Ambokueh before, so if you visit Bakso & Sosis Pasirkaliki, be sure to visit the carts in front of it! You'll find more interesting and delicious foods to try!

9. BAKSO CAMPUR PASIRKALIKI
Yeap, another one! Told ya there'll be more foods, though when it comes to this, I prefer Bakso Sakum!

10. ROTI GEMPOL
Exact location is at Jl. Gempol Wetan no. 14. A super affordable sweet and savory toast, perfect for snack time!

11. BAKSO ARIEF
This is located inside a residence at Jl. Wira Angun Angun no. 22. You'll know the place when you see a lot of cars parked in front of it. Their signature is the Cheese Fried Meatballs IDR 2K, yeap, cheap and delicious! My favorite bowl of meatballs is the one with rica, other than that they also have meatballs with mushroom, cheese, and tendons!

Here's the amazing fried meatballs that you just HAVE to try! Be sure to come earlier because they usually ran out at about 2.30 pm!

12. BATAGOR KINGSLEY
Before, they don't even have an AC but now, it became a 2 floor..lol! Plus they have more variation in their menu but I still prefer Batagor Riri actually. This place is located at Jl. Veteran no. 10.

13. BAKSO BOEDJANGAN
Located at Jl. Dipatiukur no. 1. If you ask me to choose between this and Bakso Arief, I'd go for this one. Too bad the fried meatballs here doesn't have cheese in it..lol! My advise is go buy the cheese fried meatballs at Bakso Arief and then eat them here with the meatballs soup here! :P

14. BAKSO CUANKI SERAYU
Find this at Jl. Serayu no. 2, pretty easy to find actually. Just look for the crowded place..lol! I bet it's because they're super affordable and plus there's batagor here as well! A popular dish if you visit Bandung!

15. RM. LEGOH
Immediately interested in this place because of it's BaCuk (pork with vinegar)! If you want to see their pork menu, you have to ask for the Menu Kecil because they're usual menu is all halal foods! The BaCuk here comes in variation, there's Cabe Garam, Rica, and Cabe Ijo and they're located at Jl. Sultan Agung no. 9!

16. MARTABAK TERANG BULAN KAKAO
Coincidentally found this place while searching for some Martabak and this place not only sells Martabak but Nasi Campur as well, so since both are my favorite foods, I sat down almost immediately..lol!

The Nasi Campur was okay-ish and..

The Martabak was also okay-ish..maybe we should try the Oreo Cream Cheese, since they're pretty popular at their Malang and Surabaya branch but it was sold out when we came!

17. PASAR CISANGKUY
The heaven for Kue Cubit! Located at Jl. Cisangkuy no. 64, this place has a lot of Kue Cubit sellers and most of them are good, yeap, I did try different seller's. They also have Seblak here, another traditional Bandung foods!

18. BEBEK ALI BORROMEUS
Also known as Bebek Borme, located at Jl. Hasanudin 8, next to Borromeus Hospital. It's a tent kind of place like Pecel Lele but what they sell here is duck! You have to come here at 5 pm sharp, which is the exact time that they open, cause in a few moments they will be flooded by people!

19. SATE BABI WIBISNANA
So there's a new hit spot in Bandung called Sudirman Street Food. It's like an alley filled with lots of different food stands! It's in walking distance with Jl. Cibadak. This pork skewer here is really good and affordable, only IDR 6K per skewer!

20. PINKY PORKY
Another one from Sudirman Street Food and they only sell Martabak Telor here but what makes them different is the toppings! They have pork here, pork sausage, lapchiong, etc!

Their signature menu is the Martabak Special Mix with Mozzarella! Yes, you read it right, MOZZARELLA! Truthfully, I prefer the usual Martabak Telor because the texture of this is too mushy but it was still worth they try!

21. NASI CAMPUR 88 CIBADAK
They open at 7 pm but is already crowded from 5.30 pm, why? Because they'll be giving out queue numbers, yes, they're that popular! If you don't come here earlier, be ready to be told, "will you wait for 1 more hour?"  One portion costs IDR 40K!

You also have to try the Bola Ubi here (at Cibadak Street)!

23. NASI SAMCAN GORENG 'EPENK'
Created for Samcan lovers! They're main dish is a very delicious Samcan (crispy pork belly) and also Fried Meatballs and they're located at Jl. Cibadak no. 166!

It costs IDR 37,5K per portion. People will usually have this served with rice but we only wanted the meat!

24. KUO TIE BENG BENG
Located at Jl. Astana Anyar no. 39, in front of Kedai Juice and Teppanyaki, you can also eat this at the Teppanyaki because it's still counted as one place!

25. MARTABAK NIKMAT ANDIR
A mandatory if you're in Bandung! My personal favorite is the Pandan Jagung Keju and Taro Keju. You might wonder if it's good from the name cause that's what I did too but it turns out to be PERFECT! You can find it at Jl. Jendral Sudirman no. 413!

26. DUNIA BARU
Here's something for the family at Jl. Gardujati no. 39, it's a Chinese food! Some of the must haves are; Ayam Jahe,

Babi Kecap,

and Kangkung Hotplate Sapi. The portioning here is just the right size, not too small nor big!

27. NASI BISTIK AA
Located at Astana Anyar, the place is a tent and mostly people came here with a motorcycle. They only provides chairs without a table but it's amazing how they're super crowded! They open at 5 pm, so be sure to come earlier!

28. ANGKRINGAN OINK OINK
If you've heard of Nasi Kucing, well this is a pork version, Nasi Kucing Babi! Located at Jl. Kesatriaaan no. 23, in front of Rei Salon. They sell it for IDR 3,5K per portion but I guess you gotta buy more than one, since the portion is very small. They have some variations of the pork; Babi Kecap, Rica-rica, Lada Hitam, etc!

My favorite is the Rica-rica!

They also sell skewers here and it also got something to do with pork..lol!

29. MARTABAK CANADA
Though they're both Martabak, this is different than Martabak Andir. This place offers the more usual type like Toblerone Cheese or Nutella. I love the texture of this one! It's located right across of Hotel Mutiara at Jl. Kebon Kawung!

30. MARTABAK ASAN
The ruler of Martabak TipKer! Though they don't only sell Martabak TipKer but every time I came here, I always see customers buying their TipKer!

31. NASI GORENG PANDU CEK ACONG
Sold with a cart, I recommend eating it inside your cars. Located at Jl. Pandu, they not only sell Nasi Goreng but also Bihun and what makes them so good is the Samcan and Kuping Babi!

So that's about what we had if we visit Bandung! Hope that it could enlighten you, maybe some you've already heard of or maybe not, and maybe you can give us more ideas of your favorite Bandung foods!
