SHABU SHABU GEN

Okay, this is officially the best shabu-shabu I've ever tasted in Jakarta! The quality of the meat really says it all, just look at those marbling! Getting the opportunity to try this place is really a blessing! This amazing place is called Shabu Shabu Gen and it's part of Les Amis Group, located in The Plaza on the 46th floor, where Altitude and others are!

You could call this a high class fine dining because they're pretty pricey. It's no wonder the restaurant is deserted, considering not many would eat beef with price that high!

Look at these interior, everything just seem very classy and there's a city view from the windows. I bet it'll look amazing at night!

What we tried is the Shabu Shabu Gen Premium Japanese Beef and it costs IDR 1.850K/pax. Salad, chawan mushi, ramen, veggies, meat, and dessert are included in this set!

Love the chawan mushi because there's a lot of meat in it..lol!

A4 KAGOSHIMA SIRLOIN / RIB EYE

Let's be honest, I have no idea about meats but what I do know is that this is super good! It really melts in your mouth, like literally!

It even looks pretty!

A5 KAGOSHIMA SIRLOIN / RIB EYE
Yeap, don't know what's the difference with the one before. Both amazing though! Tastes are similar, since I dip it in ponzu sauce, I guess the texture is a bit different!

A5 HIDA SIRLOIN / RIB EYE
This one's different then the rest and I guess you can say this is the best out of all..yeah, I really have no idea how to explain this..lol! What more can I say other than it's super tender that it'll just melt in your mouth!

Everything in this table is good! Sorry that we're not being quite descriptive enough but you really need to try it to understand!

This is the ramen and I think the texture is unique, rubbery yet chewy!

Here's the pretty dessert! Love the matcha ice cream and it's really firm, even after a lot of shots, it still doesn't melt! The ice cream comes with peanut covered mochi, yuzu jelly, and red bean! You can either try all elements at once but I prefer to eat each elements one by one!

SUKIYAKI GEN A4 RIB EYE / SIRLOIN IDR 1.350K

Here's the 2nd set! In this set, you'll get veggies, yakimeshi (fried rice), and meat!

This is the newest menu in Shabu Shabu Gen, well actually it's been here from 5th August, it's supposed to be new but this is a late post..lol! In this set the soup tastes sweet!

The meat is boiled in a pot like this and you eat it by dipping it into egg yolks!

Like this! At first, I was also reluctant but it doesn't smell at all, so it's still acceptable to me. Not many might like this though, which is why there's always the other usual shabu shabu sauces that you can try!

The yakimeshi here and you can get the egg yolk cooked here! This is really good but the rice is way to mushy for me, I like the rice firmer when it comes to fried rice!

Since I'm a carnivore, I really had an amazing lunch here! The meat is really different in terms of quality, plus the experience of first time trying meat this expensive! Yes, I'm being weird but this is really a huge blessing for me! Thank you Les Amis Group! :D
