Calling everyone from West Jakarta, this is a place you should probably be very familiar with. For me who is also from the west side, this is included in one of the hip places and I used to come here when it just opened, yet the place reeks of smoke and too dark (even for the photos, an extra spotlight was needed). But since 19th Avenue has launched some interesting new menus, I decided to take a peep! Read on to find out;

TOMATO SOUP IDR 35k
Tomato cream soup with hint of basil, served with garlic bread
The exact example of "The power of simplicity!" (quote Ken Segall). Non overpowering cream with a perfect taste of tomato, this simple dish packs a punch. At first glance, you won't even know that this is a tomato soup since the color is not so tomato-ish, but it actually taste like tomato soup, which means good job to the chefs. Yummy garlic bread on the side to go with this awesome soup.
ITALIAN BRUSCHETTA IDR 38K
French baguette with tomato fondue, mushroom duxelle and avocado tar tar
You'll get 3 kinds of bruschetta, 2 of each kind. First one is the usual basic tomato and cheese bruschetta, nothing really special about it, taste just like your everyday bruchetta, yet it's quite good.
Next one is really exotic and a bit disturbing for me cause the combination is a slice of eggplant and mushroom. Can you imagine how squishy it feels?? Big NO for me, just absolutely no.. Well you might like it if you like eggplants with mushrooms, so it's not THAT repulsive..
Last, the mushroom duxelle! My favorite! Since the other 2 was a bit disappointing, this duxelle came to save the dish. Might look the simplest but tastes the best even though it's only mushrooms, but maybe that's what made it good.

Black dough with tomato base, bell pepper, caramelize onion, seafood or meatzilla
Speaking of exotic foods, squid ink pizza dough is of course one of them. Looks scary but tastes as the name says, awesome! Can't stop staring at those glazed mouth-watering prawns and the MEATZILLA! Come on, it's meatzilla people! Who can say no to that? It's tomato based with a hint of spiciness which I don't even know where it came from. A must try if you ever decided to come visit.

Never tried pasta with mayonnaise before and my first experience ain't pleasant. The mayo and seafood didn't match at all.. Overpowering mayo made the pasta creamy and sour..? All I know is that if they got rid of the mayo, PERFECT! Maybe they're trying to be creative since without the mayo it's just 'seafood pasta' but why sabotage the taste with your creativeness since the seafood is actually really good; prawn, calamari, and mussel... It's a seafood heaven!

Don't usually favor cooked salmon but I can make an exception for this one. Unlike some other cooked salmon, the texture of this one is tender and really fresh. Nevertheless, there's one slight flaw; the sauce is only good for presentation purpose as it doesn't seem to be able to compliment the salmon's taste. Without the sauce, the salmon is incredibly good though.

Last but definitely NOT least, the highlight of today's menu, ribs! Super tender with lot's of meat that you can dip into the delicious barbecue sauce. Just look at those thick juicy meat! As you can see there're not much pieces of ribs but since the meat is really thick, it's not really a problem and also accompanied with yummy waffle fries so I think this dish is worth it's price.
WAFFLE ICE CREAM IDR 42K
Finally, desserts! You know what, this waffle has 3 amazing combination; skippy, oreo, and nutella plus vanilla ice cream with caramel sauce. Say hello the whole package of heavenly sweets on top of a perfectly made warm waffle. What more could you ask for?
GREEN TEA OREO IDR 36K
Fresh milk, green tea ice cream, oreo cookies and whip cream
Worst green tea ever, instant green tea might even be better. All I can say that it's tasteless, it's not sweet, nor sour, nor bitter, just tasteless and you can't even taste the oreo.. I feel deceived by the name since I expected a wonderful combination of green tea and the great oreo. They should probably do something about this, since it could actually be an amazing menu.

Fresh milk, chocolate and vanilla ice cream
Out of 3 drinks served, this was the most acceptable, even if it's just chocolate milk with ice cream on top. Not too sweet and definitely not tasteless, refreshing too. Although they basically combined milk with milk, the taste didn't overwhelm and still well balanced.
BANANA COOKIES IDR 36K
Fresh milk, banana fruit, vanilla ice cream, oreo cookies and cinnamon powder
Call this banana smoothies or something cause there's simply no cookies nor cinnamon whatsoever in it and the same as the green tea, tasteless. Maybe they should try adding more cookies to the drinks or something?
The people that came here usually goes for some beer while playing cards or some sort, rarely to dine. Well, some of the new menus are a bit disappointing but others are still worth the try and if they could improve the taste, the dishes are actually creative and appetizing. Good luck!
