SUMIBIAN PIK

Hello! These few days, we've been doing a little exploring in Pantai Indah Kapuk cause there're just so many new restaurants opening! This is one of them, Sumibian, went here with fellow foodie friends! It's located in line with Shirayuki, which is also a new dessert palace that has just opened!

Sumibian is not a Korean BBQ but Japanese (yakiniku is also referred to as BBQ)! The concept is similar to the Korean's with the self-grill in the middle of your table complete with the smoke ventilation and everything! Also, they prepared these cute aprons that we can wear and with Sumibian's logo on too!

They also serve Kimchi here as a side-dish or Banchan like in Korean BBQs. You might be wondering why, but it's really how Japanese BBQ works, since Japanese BBQ is actually derived from Korean cuisine. Yeap, just knew all of that from Wikipedia! Always excited to learn new things about food!

Drinking tea from a teapot really makes me feel so oriental! And by the way, the ocha here is free!!

FRUIT PUNCH IDR 29K
Enjoying this on a hot day is like finding an oasis in the dessert! Sweet and refreshing, perfect to rejuvenate your energy and mood!

KARUBI IDR 130K
I'm positively sure that this is just Japanese saying for Galbi and it really is! The difference is that for Karubi, the bones are usually removed. Well, I love Galbi, so Karubi is no different! It's tender and well-seasoned. Though it's just like any other Galbi, I still enjoyed it!

SHIO TOUNGE IDR 185K
First reaction to this was admiring their plating! Just look at how they neatly arranged it into a rose! Pretty! The taste was good and simple, it's not the best but acceptable. Still, I appreciate the creativity!

Okay, confession time! We cooked the meat ourselves here, since they don't give the 'let the waiter cook it for you' option and the result was kinda disastrous! You can see for yourselves how bad it was from the picture below!

It's a bit pricey here and there's really nothing special about the taste but I admit our untrained cooking skill plus the taking picture made the food not so perfect, so I think the food was degraded cause of our bad cooking. It was still fun though, the day was full of laughter and I definitely enjoyed it!
