TRATTORIA CUCINA ITALIANA ST. MORITZ

Ho Ho Ho! Are you still in a Christmas spirit? Are you ready to end 2014? Are you excited or scared? Either way, let's enjoy our last moments in 2014 while we still could and what better ways to enjoy life than having a good food?! For me; nothing! With that in mind, I'm thrilled to tell you about this Italiano that is located near home! Pleased to introduce, Trattoria Cucina Italiana!

Trattoria isn't exactly a new restaurant, you can find them at BSD, Pondok Indah, and also Kuningan but they has just opened a new branch at St. Moritz last month on November! Yeah! Owned by 5 gentlemen, this place is located right next to The Fctry Bistro & Bar.

They're usually crowded with various types of group, from friends to families, the atmosphere is perfect for any kind of event! Don't worry about space though, cause they have 2 floors here even if the 2nd floor is a bit smaller, might only holds up to 20 people or so!

Below is a picture of Trattoria's menu! Looked familiar? Well, that's because it's really similar to PEPeNERO's menu, maybe this is how Italian menus supposed to look like? Inside it is mostly in Italian but relax, there's English in the description!

TOMATO BRUSCHETTA
I know you'll be happy to hear that this is a complimentary! Even though it's just a giveaway, they still taste pretty good, but you have to be lucky enough to get them will they're still available! Considering how crowded the place is, it's no wonder that they ran out so fast!

INSALATA DI FRUTTI DI MARE IDR 89K
Organic veggies, sauteed seafood, sliced pear, tomato, pepper, and lemon dressing.

Total fail! I know having a seafood for salad is a dangerous move but I didn't expect them to fail this bad. The seafood just smelt so wrong and even though it's cold, you can't really say it's fresh. It was a disaster!

CAPRESE IDR 78K
Fresh mozzarrela with fresh sliced tomato served with basil infused oil.

Thank God that after that disastrous salad, this simple starter made everything all better! Now everything here is what I would call fresh! Yum!

GNOCCHI VERDI AI QUATTRO FORMAGGI IDR 81K
Potato and spinach gnocchi with 4 cheese sauce.

I love cheese, but this was slightly too much. Might be okay if it's shared though! The gnocchi's not that soft but rather bouncy and chewy, which I find really good! Be warned that you should finish it before it gets cold, otherwise the cheese sauce will become a gooey mess!

LINGUINE ALLO SCOGLIO IDR 86K
Linguine with mix seafood in a light spicy tomato sauce.

Okay, so this one's not as bad as the seafood salad, which is probably because this dish doesn't rely on freshness. The seafood here is cooked better and the taste's kinda distorted by the tomato sauce, hence why the fishiness wasn't that bold. Other than the seafood problem, everything is all good!

4 FORMAGGI IDR 83K
Four mixed cheeses, tomato and rocket salad.

Honestly, I was kinda let down by the presentation at first cause of the burnt sides and green that kinda dominated the whole pizza. Turned out, it was good! Not as cheesy as the gnocchi, yet still very rich, the rocket salad's a good touch on making the whole dish a lighter taste and I love thin crusted Italian pizza!

BRANZINO AL FORNO IDR 134K
Oven baked seabass served with oven potatoes and salad.

I have never tasted fish this good! How the meat just melts into your mouth and add a beautiful seasoning on top, PERFECT! You can also choose chicken to replace the seabass but why would you ever do that??

FILLETO POERCELLINO IDR 127K
Roasted tenderloin pork served with crispy potatoes and broccoli.

Finally… PORK! They always made my day! Roasted to perfection that made the pork sooo tender and almost perfect, if it weren't for the lack of sauce, which caused them to be a bit tasteless! If only they seasoned the pork better and be more generous with the sauce, it would've been the best! Don't really get how this goes with broccoli, but I love them, so I'm not complaining!

TAGLIATA DI MANZO AI FERRI IDR 159K
Sliced grilled beef tenderloin served with rucola and shaved grana cheese.

Can't help but admire those beautiful red color of this medium cooked beef! For those who can't handle medium, that's just too bad cause you'll have to deal with the rubbery well cooked! So I highly suggest that you go with medium, since then you'll be able to enjoy a nice juicy and tender meat! The white slices of cheese is called grana cheese, from my slight research, grana and parmigiano (parmesan) are both really similar in texture but a bit different in taste, where the latter is more rich in milk! In this case however, grana might be more suitable as to not conflict with the simple taste of the beef!

The photo below is a shot I took on an event, showing how the place looks at night. Now, I would've showed you how the tables are normally arranged, since this is arranged differently for the event, but I never got the chance to take a shot with no people on it! That just shows how crowded they usually are!
