KOBA KOREAN BBQ ALAM SUTERA

The newest Korean restaurant here, Koba! Though it's not exactly in Jakarta but in Living World, Alam Sutera. Exact location is near Nama Sushi at the lowest floor. A bit of a bummer that they don't serve pork here, making them a Halal restaurant but I guess that's okay. They said that they wanted to be a chain restaurant, so by including pork would be a bit of a risk, totally understandable!

The owner admitted that Born Ga is what inspired Koba, because he said that Born Ga is good but expensive, which is why he decided to offer the same beef quality with lower price here in Koba! Hmm..wonder how he does that?

Pretty big with lots of tables and when we came there was no line at all. The owner also said that because it's still very new, it still needs lots of exposure!

Well, simple decor and a bit modern compared to other Korean restaurant that likes to stay authentic if I say so myself!

So here is Koba's icon, doesn't he seem familiar? Does anyone else think he looks like Psy?

The tea here is mixed with orange sorbet and it makes it super good and refreshing! You can really taste the orange!

Banchan! As always!

There're mussels in the banchan! Wow!

JAP CHAE IDR 64K
Filled with beef and veggie! Pretty ordinary but the glass noodle's texture is perfect!

DOK BO KI IDR 49K
Warning; this is spicy! Though maybe just for me? It's also mixed with veggie and fish cake!

KOBA DANCING RICE IDR 39K
Somewhat like a Korean lunch box? At first the foods are all neatly placed and you have to break and mix them up before eating it. Tasted too bland for me, though it's not something a little bit of salt and sesame oil can't fix!

YUK GAE JANG IDR 59K
Soup filled with shredded beef, scallions, and glass noodle. The color might be intimidating but the taste said otherwise, seeing it's not that strong nor spicy. It's still okay, yet unlike other places, the soup here doesn't come with rice!

YANGYEOM GALBI 200 GR (2 PCS/SERVING) IDR 169K
Love how tender and juicy this is!! It's kinda sweet too and I admit that when it comes to meat, they did a great job!

WOO SAMGYUP 120 GR IDR 99K
Thin sliced beef brisket! Well, pretty much the same only sliced differently, I guess? This one has more fat to it making it much more tender!

DAEPAE WOO SEOL 120 GR IDR 119K
Here's some prime beef tongue! Also super good, though not the marinated kind, so the taste is slightly different than the last two!

Grilling time~

You can also add Cheese and Egg for IDR 10K each to accompany your grilling session! Very recommended!

Drool-worthy meat!!

Look at that cheese coated meat! Yumm!

For desserts, they have Ice Cream that costs IDR 30K and 4 flavor choices; Matcha, Chocolate Ferrero, Orange Sorbet, and Thai Tea. My 2 fave are the Orange Sorbet and Chocolate Ferrero! One of them is a flavor you don't find very often and the other is Ferrero, who can ever deny that? Lol!

Don't you also think that the price is really affordable compared to other Korean restaurants? For those who live in Tangerang, this is a perfect place to satisfy your craving for Korean while on budget!

  1. I love this place in particular, it always has the best and impressive events every year. These Venues in NYC have the perfect location if you are looking to host the event of a lifetime. The main-level features a large comfortable space.
