Patio Venue by Plataran - Intimate Casual Dining Experience


Yes, the day we've all been waiting for is almost here! The jolly holy season, the joyful holiday season, or anything you want to call it. It's Christmas and for this merry holiday, there's bound to be a wonderful Christmas set menus! The first one we got to try is from Patio Venue by Plataran! Let's check it out!





It's not exactly our first time visiting Patio here but we are blown away by the interior and ambiance each time!





Patio here has a thick ambiance of an elegant secret getaway. It's a hideout for those VVIPs as there has been a lot of occurrence where those famous people would rent out the place for a private gathering and such. The staffs are also trained to respect their privacy and to give them space by not shoving cameras in their face and not bother them by being a 'fan', so it's just perfect!



As you can see, the already elegant interior is turned merrier with Christmas ornaments as the days count down!









There are going to be 2 set menus that we'll talk about, Christmas and New Years, yes, it's 2 different set menus and available on different dates.


Christmas Set Menu (23 - 26 December 2017) IDR 285K++

PRAWN & AVOCADO SALAD
First up is a fresh salad!n The salad here has a nice tangy taste like vinaigrette, just my favorite dressing!



POACHED BARRAMUNDI WITH POLENTA AND MIX OLIVE
The barramundi is super soft though it could use a bit more seasoning but if you eat it with the sauce, it's still a good balance. The polenta also helps with giving it flavor and it also overflows with mix mesclun!


RASPBERRY SEMIFREDDO
Doesn't this just scream Christmas? Just look at those cherries! This is like one of those leches cakes with a raspberry and lemon sauce in the middle to balance out the sweetness with a sour touch. Definitely a dessert to make you feel merry!



There are also special beverages from the set menu but it'll cost you extra. You can choose either the alcohol one or non-alcohol!

RED NOSE IDR 59K++
Rather than the alcohol, I'd be much better off with this one! It has a very sweet cherry and pomegranate flavor with a touch of tangy lemon and raspberry. Yum!



CHRISTMAS LEAVE IDR 169K++
Well, actually their highlight is the alcohols, so they definitely went all out with the decorations. The cocktail is put inside a glass made of white chocolate and then put in a cocktail glass. You'd be confused as to how to drink it at first but the white chocolate is actually firmer than you thought!



New Years Set Menu (27 December 2017 - 1 January 2018) IDR 315K++

CREAMY CRAB ONION BALLS
Well, wouldn't actually call this creamy but it's still good. Here the salad has a plain dressing or even no dressing at all, which leads me to liking the Christmas' one better or it's just me going biased with vinaigrette..lol!




SAFFRON LOBSTER THERMIDOR WITH GRATINATED POTATO
Well, this is definitely something!! Love the texture of the lobster, just firm enough to chew but not going too hard for it to be unbearable. The gratinated potato is also a more preferable choice for me than polenta. This main course almost hit perfect score if it wasn't for the saffron sauce overpowering the taste of the lobster!





CHOCO FLOWER CLOVE IDR 149K++
Another crazy decoration for the alcoholic beverage! It's vodka based and I prefer this one rather than the Christmas' one, maybe because it's sweeter though not by much. The Red Nose is still my most favorite!



SALTY PINEAPPLE BURNED IDR 59K++
I don't really understand why they would put salt on a glass of mocktail, which is non-alcoholic. For me, salt only goes well with tequila, so when this sweet mocktail is put in a salt rimed glass, things just doesn't go well and I'd much prefer to just wipe the salt off!


Other than the holiday set menus, we also got the chance to enjoy their all time favorite best sellers!

BRESAOLA SALAD
It's a simple air dried beef with lots of rucola and tomato topped with parmesan and drizzled with truffle oil. Simply a classic that never gets old!





PIZZA RENDANG
Of course, their all time favorite pizza is also a must have here! I bet you can finish half of this by yourself cause that's what we almost did..lol!




CAPELLI D'ANGELO ALL' ARAGOSTA
THIS!! This is something that must not be missed! It's their best creation ever. The angel hair pasta is perfect, the lobster is heavenly, and everything else just all comes down perfectly! I'd definitely come back only for this pasta! I very much prefer the lobster here cause you can really taste the sweetness coming from the lobster itself without any added overwhelming sauce!





SPAGHETTI ALLA RAGU
Although this one is also delicious, I'm still not a fan of tomato based food, so this just come off as acceptable for me. Yes, I actually grabbed seconds for this, so even if I don't crave it, this is a tomato based that I could say is good to have!







CRÈME CARAMEL
After the Raspberry Semifreddo, this really came off as ordinary. There's also a slight bitter taste, which I'm assuming came from the burnt caramel?
