ONE DIMSUM PLUIT

I'm not sure what's up with Pluit, but here's yet another new dimsum place where it truly belongs! It's called One Dimsum, located in parallel with Wing Heng, its level competitor that hoards great taste and open 24hrs! Let's hope this one meets the expectation as well, how about we find out! Before we start, this location is already located in your GPS, so it's easy to find. tap tap!

This place is already spacious, however the place is already packed when I came! Looks promising, although I'm not sure if it's because of their speed that couldn't catch up with the orders or what. They have opening 20% discount until 28th of May though! That also explains the crowd. Here's the menu list! Looks worth the money!

Just as most dimsum places, you're given a menu paper where you can just check the boxes for what to order. They even have the initiatives to cross out the currently unavailable menus. I love excellence in services, and this one really helps me out! It's kind of a bummer though because I wanted to order chicken feet, which wasn't available. The list of menu goes a long way, so you might want to find out yourself as I only gave you a sneak peek! (I didn't type it wrong. It's formed of the word sneak and peek. To steal a look, not to go to the peak.) HAHAHA

CHAR SIU SO IDR 25K

Puff pastry filled with red pork meat, golden fried into perfection. Came in pair, they're crunchy, sweet, and savory kinda love!

SAYAP AYAM PANGGANG IDR 26K

It looks big because inside I found a pleasant surprise: salted egg yolk! The only letdown was that despite their intention, I kinda felt this one is under seasoned with much room for improvement for the concept!

BOLA UDANG IDR 26K

The one reigning on the throne of shrimp balls in my heart is the one in Jala-Jala Restaurant, but this one still make the fit!

HAKKAU KEPITING IDR 27K

Not one of my favorite if I had to be honest. Not enough filling and too thick of a layering. Hmm.

TALAS GORENG IDR 25K

Never judge a book by its cover, also applies for taro. This is the best fried taro I've ever tasted, Flavorful, crunchy, and filled with juicy mushroom. Rich!

Here's what I'm talking about: crunch outside, juice inside. So good!

SIOMAY IDR 25K

This one's good. Well you can't really make the classic shumay a fail, huh?

PAIKUT STEAM IDR 27K

This is a must order for me whenever I go to any dimsum place! Oily savory, and rich with a powerful broth! I love eating its soft bones as well. Nutritious!

CHAR SIU BAO IDR 25K

I prefer char siu bao better than its deep fried counterparts! More filling is the key, and they packed it in the right size! 

SIOMAY SPECIAL IDR 25K

Well the main difference between special shumay and regular shumay is that this one comes in 3, the regular in 4! Well, I suppose the difference in taste wasn't much so I'd still go for the regular, but this one has fresh shrimps in it as you can visibly see!

It still tastes too similar though!

HAKKAU UDANG IDR 27K

This one is best eaten with chili oil/ sauce to give a kick to its broth!

CIN SA PAO IDR 25K

THIS ONE IS NOT SALTED EGG. It's more of a melted Srikaya, which is sweet and gives off a unique flavor. This is so good I'd definitely order this one when I come back! The bao is also soft, it's perfect!

CHEONG FUN CHAR SIU IDR 26K

The filling is too little and they made it too thick for my taste. Lacking aroma and flavor as well so this couldn't make the cut for me personally.

NASI GORENG IKAN ASIN (L) IDR 45K

It's actually great except for the fact that the salted fish was cut in a rather big size, and I had to cut it into smaller pieces to not make my each bite overwhelming. Well but I really love this kind of Yang Zhou fried rice, so no complaint! Loveeee!

ANGSIO TAHU ISI POELENG IDR 32K

So I just knew that poeleng is a cousin of pocai HA! this one comes in only one size, with tofu and fried chicken that tastes a bit soft since it's already been simmered by the sauce.

BIHUN GORENG TELUR (S) IDR 24K

I kinda regret ordering this one in small size because it's actually REALLY good. Perfectly seasoned to my taste! 

AYAM GORENG BAWANG PUTIH (S) IDR 50K

The small size is already this generous, so just imagine! Perfect as snacks although it still has bones in it, which is kinda a turn off for me. Tasted good though, with a little bit of effort.

MIE GORENG SEAFOOD (L) IDR 44K

I still prefer the beehoon despite this Hokkian mee style hoards a lot of seafood topping that makes the overall plate rich in flavor!

It's actually good, but after tasting the beehoon, it just didn't hold the competition. They also have kuey teow, as you'd expect, but I didn't order it since we've had too much carbs already! NExt visit, perhaps!

Many have been asking me about the taste, and I think it's just good. Comparatively to Wing Heng, this place still comes short of it. Will I come back here though? Only if their service could be made faster as I didn't like the wait! It kinda messed up the whole dining experience since I had to even cancel a menu because they didn't deliver it until I was done eating. Well but what can I say, maybe it's just the opening syndrome, but I wish the best for their improvement!
