DEL'IMMO PATISSERIE & CAFE

Heading out of Jakarta! Yeap, this time we went to somewhere a bit far and that is BSD, more specifically; the ever popular AEON Mall! We actually went here because we want to try this new dessert cafe called Del'Immo, so no, we didn't just unexpectedly found this. First found out about this place from Instagram, we immediately got interested with this place, especially their menu called Black Dandy!

Upon entering the place, we were directly greeted by all these yummy looking baked goods! If they're trying to tempt their customers by displaying all those goods there, they definitely succeeded!

As you can see for yourselves, there're a lot of various baked goods offered and all of them look very yummy! The price isn't that intimidating as well, considering how good it looks..lol!

Not only breads, they also offer some cake selections and you can even buy a whole cake for a birthday surprise! Since we're all watching our weight nowadays, we decided to not go overboard with these delicacies and so we didn't get any cakes this time, no matter how much we wanted to try them!

We were a bit confused on their originality, since they said that this is from Tokyo, Japan but the name definitely smell France. There's even a miniature of the Eiffel Tower here!

BLACK DANDY IDR 74K
It is all chocolate. It is a pancake for chocolate lovers.

Such a guilty pleasure!! I'm not kidding with the guilty part! Can you guess how much calories this weigh?? So this is basically a pancake, the only difference is that they don't use the usual pancake batter but souffle cake instead! Not stopping there, they topped this with chocolate mousse and also ice cream, which is supposed to be chocolate but they ran out of it, so we got strawberry instead!

And that's not all of it! Drizzled with chocolate sauce and sprinkled with some chocolate powder, it's totally what I would call a beautiful nightmare..just look at that overwhelming mousse!

DANISH CHOCOLAT IDR 20K
We totally didn't expect this to be another heavy sin..lol! Though we should've known, since it's a danish, which fyi uses a LOT of butter!! 1 bite of these and we were totally overwhelmed..especially since we had this after we ate the Black Dandy that we didn't even finish! :( Totally hate wasting foods but we need to..for the sake of our health!

Each of those layers are filled with butter, so how about you try counting those layers? :p

PAIN AU CHOCOLAT IDR 20K
Our most refreshing choice, since it's not that overloaded with chocolate and very light. We shouldn't had got all 3 chocolate goods but most of them are chocolates and who doesn't love chocolates? Anyways, don't worry about us not finishing anything here cause for the breads, you can take them home, which is what we did cause no matter how light, the size here is pretty big, so I think the price is very reasonable!

ICE TEA (L) IDR 22K
Our savior!! And by the way, there's a pancake set here, so if you buy one of the pancakes with a choice of coffee or tea, you'll get a IDR 15K discount! I do recommend getting something light like this ice tea though, cause you're gonna need it..trust me!

COLD MANGO (M) IDR 47K
For this smoothie menu, we were actually interested in getting the Choco Brownies one but seeing as we have ordered a lot of chocolates, we decided otherwise and got this mango instead! Another heavy one, super creamy and the ice cream definitely didn't help easing it. Usually this would be fantastic but after all those overwhelming delicacies, this feels slightly like a burden!

We totally recommend this place for a dessert lover, though we don't think we'd be coming here often even if we are dessert lovers, since this is just way too far. Well, we do think that when it comes to desserts, Japan does have the upper hand!

SAGAMI JAPANESE CUISINE

Sorry not sorry that it's another Japanese restaurant! :p Can't blame us for liking Japanese cuisine! Anyways, you all probably have known by now that AEON Mall is filled with Japanese restaurants, so don't be surprised by the amount of Japanese restaurants that we'll review! Lol! This time, it's called Sagami and it's located near Kushiya and they're always so crowded, so my curiosity got the best of me and we decided to try it!

After looking at the menu, I found that almost all of the menus are set menus, which made the price much more reasonable!

CHICKEN KATSU NABE TEISHOKU IDR 72K
In this set, you'll also get rice, miso soup, soba, and wakame salad. Isn't that a lot? For the chicken katsu, it comes with eggs but you can also get it without the eggs for less. The katsu okay but the eggs will start to emit a strong egg smell when it gets cold, so better eat it while it's warm! For the price, I think it's pretty reasonable, though the portion's not really huge but considering the taste, it's really worth it!

The soba's not really special, tasteless even but I have learnt to not expect too much out of side dishes! What surprises me is that the miso soup turned out to be awesome, so that's good!

SAGAMI-ZEN IDR 110K
This is Sagami's signature dish, if the name didn't give it away already. Almost every table would have this, I'm guessing it's because of the unique presentation and for IDR 110K, this is a lot!

For the tempura, you'll get prawn, calamari, and sweet potato and all of them tasted delicious! Glad that the flour batter wasn't too thick! Another plus point is that they seasoned the tempura itself, so when you don't eat it with the sauce, it still tasted good!

Fresh salmon sashimi! The only negative point is that they only give 3 slices..I need more! Lol!

You'll also get 6 pieces of sushi roll and they're really yummy! Even if it's only lettuce and kani, topped with salmon and mayo!

They also provide fresh salad of course! It's essential in any set menus, right?

Another wakame salad, which is similar to the ones in the chicken katsu set. It's too bad that it kinda emitted a strange smell that made it feel less fresh! In this set, you'll also get the same exact soba like in the katsu set!

Though it overall tasted just okay, I think it's good enough considering the price! Maybe that's the reason why they're always so crowded!

RAMEN NAGI @RAMEN VILLAGE AEON MALL

We're back everyone!! Sorry for the long absence! We just finished our final thesis and now we're only waiting for our scheduled presentation! Wish us luck, kay? :p
Anyways, I think AEON Mall has been the top destination these days and every weekend, that place is always super crowded! It's not only people from BSD but also Jakarta, even though in my opinion, AEON Mall is not near at all! They're so far off that even the signal is bad, good thing there's a free wifi in the mall! I recommend you visit in the weekdays, maybe it might not be as crowded(?)

So, what's so special about AEON that people just can't help but wanting to come here, though the crowded atmosphere? Well, for me, first would be the amount of Japanese foods here, from restaurants to just supermarket goodies! Another highlight of this place is the RAMEN VILLAGE! Yeap, they have a Ramen Village here and it's located at the top floor, which is the 3rd, the mall's not too tall but it certainly is wide! You'll find the Ramen Village in the food court and there're 7 different ramens with very unfamiliar names! Since I didn't recognize any names here, I decided to choose the one with the most crowd, must've been the best, right?

Winner goes to Universal Noodle Ramen Nagi! Lol! The price here is similar to other good ramens shop I've been, like Ikkudo, which is about IDR 58K or so and they serve chicken and PORK!!

Since the place is not that spacey, it really feels stuffy because it's crowded!

See? It's a really bad choice to come here at weekends! I had to go on the waiting list and even after that the food took a very long time to be served! Learn from my mistake everyone, I really don't suggest coming here on weekends!

SANSHOO IDR 58K
Ramen rempah cina.

The ramen bowls here are divided into 2, which are yellow, that stands for chicken and white, that stands for pork. Each ramen can either use chicken and pork, so for this one, I chose the pork! Trust me when I say that the photo on the menu looked much better than this! Lol! Was a bit taken a back by how messy it came out to be, maybe because of the rush hour? Anyways, the taste was a bit lacking, it's neither spicy nor was there any Chinese spices that the description says! Overall, it's a bit tasteless and the amount of noodle was really stingy!

Good thing the pork was in a generous slice!

MIDORIO IDR 58K
Ramen unik, olive oil dan keju.

"Eww" was my first thought..I mean, it's green!!! Well, technically it's stated on the name but still... This is the waiter's recommendation by the way. Anyways, I actually ordered the chicken one for this, so I'm wondering why it's white and yet, there's no pork in it at all! Heck, there's no meat whatsoever! After telling the waiter, they said they forgot, so they'll give the pork on the side...and there's even no egg yolk, just egg white..and what's with the cheddar cheese chunks? I thought it was gonna be some grated cheese but nope! It's cheese chunks!

I really think the cheese chunks doesn't go well with the ramen, it's like a really mushy yet undissolved cheddar! :(

AKAO IDR 58K
Ramen rasa cabe bakar.

It's said to be the most favorite ramen here and I agree! This one is the most decent out of all, too bad it's not spicy like it's said to be, even though the soup was already that red! What made me a bit displeased was the super oily soup! The contents were generous though, there's carrots and potatoes, like a curry and a piece of chicken, which I think is enough for 1 person!

Truthfully, I won't be coming back here, at least not until they've improved their service and taste! So all I could do is just wish them good luck!!

KUSHIYA MONOGATARI

Yet another new Japanese restaurant has arrived! But this particular one is actually different than the usual, a never-before-seen, called Kushiya Monogatari. Now, I do think it's a bit hard to spell and remember, since it's not those usual catchy name but I guess they're confident that people will remember them for their distinct style! Located inside AEON Mall, a new mall in BSD City, which opens in 30th May 2015 and we feel honored to be invited to try this before that date! :D

A bit about AEON Mall, the owner is actually Japanese, so you'll find that most restaurants here are Japanese. The mall ain't that tall, just 3 floors but it's a really wide one, like Mall @ Alam Sutera. We actually got to try 2 of their restaurants, Kushiya Monogatari and another one is Uchino Shokudo. They're both located right next to each other and even from the same group! You can find them at the ground floor of this mall!

Uchino Shokudo is your usual Japanese restaurant but the way they cooked the rice is different, while Kushiya Monogatari is an all-you -an-eat restaurant! If you're curious then you just have to try it! :p

Can you guest what type of food they're serving? No, it's not the usual all-you-can-eat dishes, like shabu-shabu or bbq, this one offers a buffet of FRIED FOODS! The price is also really affordable, maybe it's because they're located at BSD, only IDR 128K on weekdays and IDR 148K on weekends!

So what we'll do here is first, choose the skewers you want, there're sweet and savory types, whichever you prefer! Then, just fry it or you can even wrap it with flour first! More details below, keep on reading everyone! :p

These here are the sauce and dressings! Look at all the varieties that you can choose from! There're some for the salads and for the fried foods. I've tried the ones for the fried foods and they taste amazing!!

A complete set of courses are all available here! From salads, main courses, even desserts! Interesting, huh? Though the taste of salad can't really get anywhere, as long as it's fresh, I'm good! I also appreciate that they at least, provided something healthy in the middle of all those fried foods!

For the salad, they even have decent varieties, like this Potato Salad here!

Out of all the salads, this is my favorite! It's broccoli, cauliflower, and the best part, CRAB-STICK! Simple, healthy, and delicious!

The famous Macaroni Salad that you could also find in various restaurants that offer salad menus! It's a classic, I guess?

Moving to the main course, they have this yummy Curry Rice! Can you believe it? A curry rice buffet! All you can eat curry! Sorry, but I love curry, so this is something for me! It's not an à la carte, so you can take the rice and curry separately and as much as you like!

Chicken Karaage, not my favorite though! I guess it's just because I've had better ones!

Is it just me or is the Yakisoba here a bit sour? Or is yakisoba is normally like that? I don't really think so though. Well, all I know is I don't really like this!

Don't really know why there's Croquet and Spring Roll but it's good, so I don't mind! Lol! It's seriously good, especially while it's still warm!

DESSERT TIME!

The skewer goods to be dipped in the chocolate goodness was only this choux, which is the crispy kind. There're no fruits or other things like usual Chocolate Fondue but the chocolate was really yummy, so it's forgiven!

Other than chocolate fondue, they also have 2 kinds of small cakes, Cheese Cake and Chocolate Cake! I loveee how fluffy and soft the texture was, especially the cheese cake, since I'm the kind of person who likes lighter food than heavy ones! It's like they just melt in your mouth!

I think this is a chocolate cake, though it does slightly look like tiramisu!

Now it's time for some DIY (do it yourself)!!
So they'll provide bread crumbs and sticky flour to cover the skewers before frying or you can also leave them out if you want!

Here're some of the super yummy dipping sauces! This is a MUST, trust me! It's what made everything good!

Some of my pick for the skewers!

For the skewers, they have 2 signatures here! This taiyaki and takoyaki! I know it sounds strange, I mean, where else do you find fried taiyaki and takoyaki, right? Well, that's what made them unique!! Inside the taiyaki is the usual red bean, though I first thought it was chocolate..lol! My bad!

Though their special is fried takoyaki and it's good, I still prefer the normal takoyaki though..sorry!

Ta-da!! This was our fried goodies! In the middle of all tables, there's this frying thingy and don't worry about the oil splashing everywhere, cause they also comes with a lid! Each frying machine has 2 sections and each section can hold a total maximum of 5 skewers!

The place is pretty simple but the foods are amazing! I still can't forget how good the dipping sauce was, though it's kinda of weird to be so attached only to a dipping sauce but that's just how good it was! Be careful of sore throat though, since it is an all-you-can-eat fried foods, be sure to drink lot's of water everyone! For their first day of opening, they already did a great job! Congratulations!!
