TUGU KUNSTKRING PALEIS RESTAURANT MENTENG JAKARTA

Tugu Kunstring here is a restaurant, hotel, art gallery, and bar, all made into one! Located at Menteng area on a hook of the road. It's been here for 2-3 years and is just simply gorgeous! The interior just screams royalty and a pretty detailed one at that! From the same group as Tugu hotel in Malang, Lombok, Bali, and Blitar, which also includes Lara Djonggrang, Dapur Babah, Shanghai Blue. Fyi, if you want to just go sight seeing without dining in, it's fine too, so don't be shy!

Here's the main dining room. I'd recommend making a reservation first cause the tables are limited plus you'd get your name written on a cute leaf!

Amazing fun fact; that painting on the background there..it's created by the owner! An Indonesian who just loves art..wow!

These are the names of what we're going to taste today! The price isn't that expensive, so feel at ease to try them. Other than Indonesian, they also offer Western cuisine, though it's still mainly Indonesian!

SAYOER BOENTJIS MET UDANG API API EN TELOR ASIN

Yes, quite the name, huh? Lol! It's green beans with shrimp and other stuff said in the description. What I love about this is how it's not oily at all! It's very flavorful from the crispy salted egg and I can't help but falling in love with veggies here!

TAHOE TELOR
The best one I've ever tasted in 2017!! Seriously didn't expect anything at first and since I'm Indonesian, I admit I sometimes take Indonesian food for granted. I didn't think that I'd be a big fan of Indonesian foods but how wrong was I! Everything here is just utter perfection!

DULVELSE KIP (AYAM SETAN)

The name sounds scary, doesn't it? It's because this chicken with curry is very spicy, no kidding! You can request the non-spicy one but on default it's really hot, so be careful!

POFFERTJES
Something from the Dutch that has embedded itself into Indonesian cuisine. Not my type of desserts tho, plus personally think it needs to be accompanied by ice cream..lol! Just a personal preference!

KUE PANCONG WITH COCONUT ICE CREAM
Super good! Very Indonesian but I personally prefer this way more than the latter, especially its coconut ice cream. It's also the PR's favorite and I totally agree!

APELFLAPPEN
Another Dutch dessert, which is very similar to apple strudel or is it actually the same? Hmm, oh well. Sprinkled with cinnamon powder, so it smells wondrous. Another one of the favorites!

Remember that I said they also have a bar? Here's the direction! The restaurant is mostly filled with families and older people, whereas the Suzie Wong Bar is filled with youngsters or people who loves their alcohols!

Like the Chinese oldies movies, huh?

Just entering the place is already an amazing experience cause the place is like an art museum. The foods are also simply traditional, yet delicious, very nice!
