ANOMALI COFEE MENTENG

Yeap, if you've know about the coffee hype in Jakarta, you'd definitely be familiar with this one. It's the one and only Anomali Coffee! With a lot of their branch opening here and there, this particular coffee shop is definitely a reliable place to grab your caffeine needs before work! This time, we went to the one at Menteng!

Not only known for their coffee, Anomali also serves up some pretty hardcore foods and now they've decided to change their whole food menu into something more local with a special theme, Street Heritage! As it is their goal to introduce Indonesia through their finest coffee, they also decided to suit their foods to the same goal, hence how the theme is born!

HERITAGE KAMPOENG FRIED RICE
One of the pride and glory of Indonesia is definitely their fried rice. The foreign people I've met, whenever asked about foods they like, fried rice always seem to be the answer! These here is a very authentic Indonesian Kampoeng Fried Rice, it's something that hits pretty close to home, especially with that fried chicken and eggs!

ROA FISH PASTA
It's definitely roa fish there! A popular ingredients from Manado if I remember correctly. I guess people might find the smell to fishy but I think it's how roa fish actually smells like?

CHICKEN EGG ROLLS
I don't really know if this is a local signature but all I know is this taste great! I love most of their lite bites, well, it's pretty easy to love fried foods actually..lol!

TUNA SAMBAL MATAH
Was expecting more sambal matah like than this actually..somehow, I don't really taste sambal matah here. For a tuna pasta, this is okay, but what they really need to enhance on is the sambal matah, cause that is what makes this one an authentic Indonesian!

CHICKEN KATSU DON
Okay, I'm totally confused of how this is Indonesian..lol! A Japanese heritage maybe? Well, all I know is that the katsu is good and that's really all I need!

SIOMAY
Of course, who can ever forget this lite bite! It's a local's favorite, though we got unlucky as the one served to us were a bit undercooked making it somewhat grainy and dry. Too bad, was really looking forward to it too!

BALINESE DUCK CRISPY CONFIT
The duck is definitely tender with a super crispy skin! There's also a bit of sambal matah on the side and this is really the sambal matah we're talking about! Now if only they'd used this in the pasta or maybe add more if they already did?

OTAK OTAK
I remember how I used to love snacking on these when I was young. This definitely brings a fond memory of my childhood! Love this as well!

We do wish them a lot of success with bringing forth Indonesia's name through their coffee and cuisine! Such a noble mission they are on and we need more of these types of mindset!
