THE TAKEMORI JAPANESE DINING DHARMAWANGSA

The Takemori here is from the same group as Yakinikuya that we reviewed in December. Located at Dharmawangsa Square as well, when Yakinikuya is in the basement, Takemori here is on the 2nd floor. Just go into the elevator next to Yakinikuya and once you got into the 2nd floor, it's on the left side. Pretty much the exact location just on different floors!

The interior is the same alley-like but Takemori has less people in it. I'm guessing it's because people prefer bbq more than sukiyaki!

The Takemori is obviously Japanese dining as well and they have more varieties but focuses more on the sukiyaki. You can find things like salmon skin, agedashi tofu, sashimi, kushimori, rame, etc here and the concept is similar to Yakinikuya, you can go with the a la carte or the all you can eat, which most would prefer.

Everytime we order the sukiyaki, we'll get an Omega 3 egg, where you'll dip your cooked meat into, though I guess not many would like eating raw eggs.

BEEF ENOKI IDR 58K
Before putting this on the hotplate, they grill it first, so it's not cooked on the hotplate, just sizzled there to keep warm. This one is definitely a must have!

GYOZA IDR 48K
You can order this on soup or grilled like the ones below. The filling actually tastes wonderful but the skin is too thick for my liking.

CRISPY SALMON BELLY IDR 118K
You just have to try this one! It's also very limited, so you're lucky if it's available. The size is pretty big with thick meat and I don't know why they serve sambal matah in a Japanese restaurant but it's hell'a good!

On to the sukiyaki section!

RINKU 150GR (1-2 PAX) IDR 248K
In this plate are rib eye, which is the one at the back there, and belly combo, the one with more fat.

The difference between sukiyaki and bbq is that sukiyaki has more sauce. Honestly I find the meat a bit hard to chew but the taste is wonderful.

This is what I mean by 'more sauce', expect it to be sweet.

Let's dip it into the Omega 3 egg!

RIB EYE IDR 278K
The meat taken from the ribs. Actually they have a lot of meat variation from chuck eye, wagyu, sirloin, to top blade, etc but the waiter recommended this one and the belly. I also got the sirloin but truthfully tho, I can't really tell the difference, since it taste pretty much similar..lol! That's bad, huh?

If you don't want those hard to chew meats then go with the belly, since it has more fat. They will pour a generous amount of sauce, so it's somewhat like your boiling the meat in the sauce, not too much tho.

For dessert, we got the Taro Kakigori. Not only does it look pretty but it tastes good as well, which is a first for a kakigori. XD
