BIBIGO INDONESIA

Ready for some more Korean? This time we headed to the South but no, it's not Senopati, we're going to the mall, which is Pacific Place! I kind of forgot what this was before but I know that it hasn't always been Bibigo. Well, it's all in the past, which is not important anyway!

Located on the 4th floor, the place is pretty easy to find, just look for a big lighthouse in the middle of a made up ocean! Bibigo is a Korean branch restaurant, which is under CheilJedang or CJ, who also holds Blitz Megaplex. Because of this, now you can order some of Bibigo's dishes at Blitz to accompany you, while you're watching a movie!

Interior's pretty cool, all mirrors and wooden furniture with a seaside dock theme. You can even dine inside the lighthouse or even better, on the boat! Yes, there's an actual boat..lol! Well, no matter where you choose, the most important part must be the foods, right? So let's get started!

KOREAN CHOPPED SALAD IDR 35K
Napa cabbage, radicchio, papaya, bean sprout and black sesame with fried spring roll pastry and Korean sesame dressing.

Because this salad is made out of a lot of ingredients, which are not only veggies, I find this very satisfying! :p You might think that the portion is way too small for the price but it's because this salad is a part of a set that I'll explain more below!

RED CHICKEN IDR 45K
Deep fried chicken glazed with sweet & spicy Kohot sauce.
*Kohot sauce is Bibigo's hot sauce made with Korean red chili pepper paste Gochujang.

My favorite Korean snack, so of course I think this is super good. A bit spicy but good! The same goes for this as the salad, this is also a part of that set, which costs only IDR 35K for the salad and this yummy red chicken!

USAMGYEP BULGOGI; BIBIGO BEEF BULGOGI IDR 180K
Brisket beef bulgogi marinated in teriyaki sauce with authentic Korean kimchi and fried tofu.
+Set B (Korean Chopped Salad & Red Chicken) IDR 35K

This is the set I'm talking about! So if you get any of the dish in the same page as this, you can add set A or B. For this bulgogi, it's no mistaking of how good it is, I think all the meats here are good! If only they have pork..lol! Now, I'm not a big fan of tofu but my friend said that even the tofu is good!

PREMIUM HOT STONE GALBI IDR 250K
Char-grilled U.S. beef ribs marinated in Bibigo's special sauce.

I wonder how different the taste of this and the normal galbi that only cost IDR 180K, is it more tender? More flavorful? I guess it is, it's supposed to be, right? Well, anyway like I said before, all the meats here are good and this is no different! Though the rib's bone made it look like short ribs, is it? Okay, too many questions for this dish but it's really good, trust me..lol!

SOY SAUCE CHICKEN SKEWER IDR 50K
Char-grilled chicken and mushroom skewer marinated in soy sauce, topped with minced pistachio and Bibigo's special Kohot Sambal sauce.

You know that this restaurant is good when not only their beef tasted amazing but also the chicken! Love how complex they try to make out of a simple chicken skewer. I mean, minced pistachio? Who would've thought of that? Thumbs up!

SPICY BEEF FLANK SOFT TOFU SOUP IDR 80K
Spicy soft tofu stew with beef flank in a sizzling hot stone pot.

I'm not a big fan of sundubu jjigae, especially with seafood, so it's a good thing that they have a beef version. Since my friend loves soup, we decided to give it a try and I'm actually glad I did! This is actually pretty good, it's spicy but very flavorful and generous with the topping!

JANGJORIM BIBIMBAP IDR 75K
Bibimbap topped with braised beef in soy sauce, fried egg and assorted vegetables in a sizzling hot stone bowl.

A bit disappointed that this bibimbap doesn't go with gochujang sauce, instead it's only soy sauce but we didn't want to get the usual bibimbap, since there's no meat in it! Well, sacrifices had to be made, so we went with this. Good thing that even with only soy sauce, this bowl of rice is pretty satisfying!

DENG-GALBI; BACK-RIB WITH CHEESE IDR 180K
Steamed back-rib in sweet-spicy sauce combined with cheese.

We've arrived at the highlight of today's dining experience!! You can really tell that this will be good even by just looking at the picture, right? Yeap, this is super good! Can you imagine a tender sweet and spicy ribs dipped with melted cheese? It's my heaven on earth! What's even better is that there's fire below the hot stone to keep you cheese from crusting and stay melted! Perfection!

This is food for 3 girls..yes, you can call us monsters now..lol!

This is actually my second time dining here and I still think it's good! I would definitely not mind to have to come back here again! Maybe I should try getting this while I'm in the cinema? :p

KIYADON PACIFIC PLACE

Ready for yet another Japanese cuisine? Well ready or not, here it is! Lol! It's not exactly a new restaurant but it's a proper Japanese restaurant and the name is Kiyadon!

I guess you could say that this place is pretty well known, since it already has 7 outlets! The first Kiyadon in Jakarta is actually the one at Plaza Senayan, which arrived 15 years ago. The one we tried was at Pacific Place, which have been here for 8 years with capacity of 140 seats!

They say that this place is usually crowded by businessmen, since it's located near many offices. Well I think the interior suits the market, don't you think so too? :p

SALMON SASHIMI SALAD IDR 78K
Salmon lettuce with dressing.

I think it's really fresh, especially since the dressing is made out of wasabi, carrot, and onion! It has a hint of spiciness that is just enough to wake you up! Plus, you don't need to dip your salmon to wasabi and soy sauce anymore, just use the dressing!

Love how pretty the plating is! It's a salmon flower..lol!

TOM & JERRY IDR 98K
Unagi, kyuri, salmon, tobiko.

So the reason why this is called Tom & Jerry was because it's a sushi with salmon and unagi, where both never gets along with each other, just like Tom & Jerry. Yeap, that's all! Tasted yummy, though I rarely find any sushi with unagi and salmon that tasted bad..lol!

AGEDASHI TOFU (3 PCS) IDR 35K
Deep fried beancurd with tempura sauce and bonito shave on top.

Not a big fan of agedashi tofu but I guess this one's proper! The part that I like is how chewy the bottom part of the tofu is and the salty sauce! Though it's not my favorite, it's like a must haves on a Japanese restaurant, so there!

CHASOBA SET IDR 108K
Hot/cold noodle served with assorted tempura.

This is a very authentic dish! Not many Indonesians like it but I think Japanese would love these! The green noodle is made out of wheat and green tea and you'll have to dip the noodle to the mentsuyu. I personally like to add some wasabi to the mentsuyu, since I've had these on an airplane (it's a Japanese airline). This set will be enough to fill you up, which is why we couldn't finish the whole noodles! The tempura's no doubt delicious, with or without being dipped into the mentsuyu!

I think Kiyadon is sort of underexposed compared to other Japanese restaurant, since to me, their foods are actually good! Well, there's a reason why they've survived since 2002 until now, with 7 branches. I hope for the best for Kiyadon and may they keep standing strong 'til later on!

BAHARAT - THE RITZ CARLTON

HAPPY FASTING for those who celebrates!!
Here's a nice recommendation on where to have your iftar and it's at Ritz Carlton Hotel! There's a pop up buffet restaurant called Baharat and it's only available on fasting month!

Just fyi, Baharat can also be accessed from the 5th floor of Pacific Place Mall!

You can clearly see that this is made for Ramadan with all the Arabic decor and everything! Feels like your actually in Arab! :D

I rarely dine on Middle Eastern dishes, so I'm really unfamiliar with all of the names here..I was also a bit hesitant to try, afraid that it won't suit my taste.
For the appetizer they have dishes called Beetroot Feta Borani, Zaalouk, Crispy Chickenpea, Kisir, Fattoush, and Grilled Haloumi..wow! I really have no idea which is which! If you can help me out here, it'll be much appreciated! :')
I'm guessing this one below is the Crispy Chickenpea, though I didn't really try it!

This must be the Beetroot Feta Borani, you can clearly see the beetroot color. I've just found out that Borani is an Iranian appetizer made out of yogurt from Wikipedia. Wow! Love how this job helps me enrich my food knowledge!

This is the only thing I tried and I don't even know the name! All I know that it tasted super tomato..and I'm not a big fan of tomato..lol!

Moving on to the main courses, we have this squid on a stick, at least I think it's squid. It did kinda smell in my opinion but tasted really unique, maybe it's supposed to have a bit of a fishy smell(?)

On the left is lamb and it's super good with a perfect texture! Not too hard nor mushy! Yum! On the right is chicken with Indian seasoning, which was also delicious!

When it comes to middle eastern main courses, it's a must to have a biryani rice! Though these 2 have different colors, I can't really tell the difference in taste. The only taste difference is in the toppings in which one is fish and the other is fried chicken. Both topping were amazing and let me tell you that the fried chicken is really well-seasoned, maybe that's why the rice was made a bit tasteless, though it still smelt nice!

Another biryani and this time it's with chicken, garlic, raisins and onion. This one smelt the best!

Now, here's the most popular dish, Grilled Lamb! In Indonesian, it's more known with the name 'Kambing Guling'. I'm not a big fan of lambs but I love this one! Super tender and juicy meat with no smell whatsoever!

Other than the main courses above, they also have Kalimantan rice with meat stew, duck curry, fried chili prawns, and grilled fish satay. There's also barbecued goodies; Shish Tawook Yogurt, Lamb Kofta, and Marinated Calamari. Some more Arabic dishes like Chicken Shawarma, Lamb Harirra, and Makloube.
And I really have no idea about most of those weird names! Please someone explain it to me! I also didn't get the chance to take any shots of those because it was immediately attacked by people!

Well, let's just move on to the desserts shall we?
For the desserts, they have a wide range of selections and this below is the usual Surabaya Layered Cake, Spekkoek, Pastel, Bugis, Talam and more!

Here's the Arabic desserts! There's Rose Water Muhalabea, Dates Mammal, Blah El Sham, Ul Aui, Faloodeh, Cashew Nut Baklava and sooo many more! My personal favorite is the Cashew Nut Baklava, since it's like a sweet puff pastry!

Out of all of the desserts here, I only recognized Kurma and Baklava..lol! Really apologize for my limited knowledge!

This here is Baklava and this is actually my 2nd time trying Baklava. I am once again reminded why I love Baklava! <3

Other than the Middle Eastern dessert, they also provided Asian and Western desserts!
This one is a Dark Chocolate that looked like Toblerone and it's like pure dark chocolate, so it's bitter!

This is my favorite! Might only be a chocolate cake but it's uber rich! The red velvet on the background there's amazing as well!

It's always a great experience to go on a food adventure, especially when exploring a new territory and Middle Eastern is definitely a new one for me! Won't say it's my favorite but since it's a bit similar to Indonesian, I was able to adapt a little! :D This one night in Baharat is only available from June 18th 'till July 16th, so don't miss it!
