SUSHI KIOSK GRAND INDONESIA
Yes, my love for sushi really is unconditional..lol! Don't need any fancy restaurant, just as long as it's fresh and proper, I'd be fine! This place is a good example of where you can get proper sushi without all the fanciness, Sushi Kiosk! I've known this place for quite a long time and if I remember it correctly, it used to be called Sushi Kiosk by Sushi Tei, wonder why they changed? Can anyone update us about it?
Known for their grab-and-go concept, this place doesn't provide that much tables but they do have it. It's like the fast-food restaurant for sushi, which is perfect if you need a quick relieve of your sushi cravings and they're almost everywhere! Here, we went to their newest branch at Grand Indonesia, yeap, they just opened one here not long ago!
What I love the most about this place is not only because of their decent tasting sushi but also the affordable price! I mean it's as affordable as sushi can get!

Well, this isn't the first time I came here and definitely not the last time! I do hope that their promotion will last longer or even get better and more drooling! We'll be waiting when that happens! :D

CAFFE MILANO - FEBRUARY'S SPECIAL MENUS
Hey ho! Got a news update here; one of us now has a job that robs her off her free time, which is definitely the excuse for not updating earlier, so for those who are wondering whether we have anything else to do besides blogging, then the answer is yes! Both of us do have our own personal jobs outside of this blogging world but let's get back on topic now, shall we?
The topic today is Caffe Milano at Grand Indonesia! Yes, it's not a new restaurant but they have some new dishes that you'd just have to try, so without further ado, let's check them out!
LA BELLA NEGRONI IDR 100K
Kaffir Lime-Infused Ketel One Vodka, Dry Vermouth, Aperol, Passionfruit Purée, Dehydrated Aperol.
This cocktail is actually a part of Diageo World Class cocktail series, which is a prestigious cocktail competition that their mixologists competed in and this is one of the cocktails featured in the competition. It's only available until March, so you better try them while you can! I'm not a big alcohol fan, so I don't really know much about this but I can only say that the smell of the kaffir lime is very strong!
DOUBLE COATED MOZZARELLA FRITTERS IDR 80K
Calling all cheese lovers! This here is very simple and just full of cheese, so it's pretty easy to like and snack on, yet not really interesting at the same time. I guess that's okay, since this is in the Antipasti (it means appetizer) category!
FRIED PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM IDR 85K
With mozzarella, basil, and pesto cream sauce.
Though this and the mozzarella fritters are both appetizers, you can clearly see the difference! With the mozzarella fritters, they're aiming for a simpler dish, on the other hand this one's more complex. Love both of them but I'd have to say I'd rather go for this one instead!
CHICKEN ALLA PARMIGIANA IDR 145K
A very classic dish! Yes, it's a proper parmigiana and there's really nothing that can go wrong with deep fried chicken and cheese. The highlight of this dish for me is definitely the fries though, because they made them out of actual cut potatoes, so you can just imagine how pure the taste is!
SPAGHETTI ALLA CARBONARA IDR 95K
You'll find the carbonara here dry at first but that's because they use egg yolk for the creaminess. Meaning you gotta mix the egg yolk well! I do prefer this method, since you'll get a perfect amount of cream, which means the flavor will stay strong!
We got to try 2 pizzas, ORTOLANA IDR 90K and DI POLLO IDR 95K. Both are good but I prefer the Di Pollo, since there's no meat in the Ortolana, whereas there's chicken in the Di Pollo!
TORTA DI MELE IDR 65K
Classic Italian Apple Cake.
Since I love apples, I totally dig this! I was a bit disappointed that the apples tasted bland though, the natural juice of it is gone, which I think is because apples too dry. The cake's okay, just the apples and since apple is supposed to be the highlight of this dish, it kinda lose it's meaning..lol!
WARM MELTED CHOCOLATE CAKE IDR 95K
With rum raisin ice cream.
Seriously, what can ever go wrong with this type of cake...other than the chocolate not melting..lol! However, you don't need to doubt this one, since even I was amazed by it! Just a tiny cut will cause all that chocolate-y goodness to overflow in an instant! Totally caught me off guard and the rum raisin ice cream is just heavenly!
Fyi, for those who don't know, Caffe Milano is in the Union Group, which is no wonder that their food tastes great! Well, I just love to see how a restaurant is always ready to improve itself and Caffe Milano is definitely one of them! Wishing them the best of luck and let's look forward to more new interesting dishes to come from Caffe Milano, shall we?

UNION DELI NEW MENU
Merry Christmas everyone!! The town's been buzzing around with so many Christmas decorations and everything. We, on the other hand, have been going around with best friends and families for a lovely Christmas feast! :p If you're like us, who would prefer celebrating Christmas with foods and have no idea where to go, how about try Union Deli's new menu? It all looks fantastic!
TOASTED MARSHMALLOW MILKSHAKE IDR 60K
Isn't this just the perfect beverage for the season?! Hmm..actually for me, marshmallow is good for any season! This beverage is truthfully just a simple vanilla milkshake with a toasted marshmallow on top, I don't know if they added any marshmallow in the milkshake or not but I definitely didn't taste any marshmallow in it. A bit of advice, you might want to also give the milkshake a hint of marshmallow flavor!
SALTED CHOCOLATE IDR 60K
Chocolate beverages are always lovable! Why go for the boring hot chocolate when you can try this chocolate with salted caramel? Nowadays I have been obsessed with salted caramels but I can't help it, since it's just oh-so good!
HOUSE MADE CHICKEN LIVER PATE IDR 75K
Fig jam, pickles, toast points.
When I heard of the name, I definitely didn't expect myself to even like this. Turns out, I loved it! It was a very nice snack with balanced flavors! There's the savoriness of the pate, which surprises me, cause I don't usually like organs thingy, combined with sweet fig jam and tangy pickles, all of it eaten with a since toast..perfect!
Remember that you have to eat the whole combination of items in 1 bite to get the best taste! Do not leave anything out!
THE DOUBLE LOBSTER - RIVER LOBSTER ROLL & BISQUE IDR 150
Crayfish, shrimp, mayo, lime, scallions, hot dog buns, crayfish bisque.
This whole dish tasted very 'seafood', you can even smell the ocean as soon as it was served! Though for me, it's a bit overwhelming but to those who loves seafood would find this satisfying. For the bisque, the toppings on top are to be dumped into it. though I don't suggest adding the sambal matah into it if you don't like spicy foods!
These potato chips are very pure, since there's not much seasoning added on! It's not even salty but since I love potatoes, I don't really mind it's natural flavor. They could use a bit more spices though!
CRISPY PORK BELLY IDR 95K
5-hour roasted pork belly, kale pesto, burger bun.
Such a guilty pleasure!! :') Bet you all would've guessed that we did the happy dance when this dish came out! Nothing can ever go wrong with pork but they could improve this by making the pork a bit more crispy as the name says and bring out a stronger flavor from the pork, since as of now, the pesto definitely overwhelms the pork!
Can this get any sexier?!
CHICKEN & SAUSAGE GUMBO IDR 85K
New Orleans-style stew, house made andouille pork sausage, rice.
A nice stew with pulled chicken and smoked sausage. You can really taste the smokey flavors and some might not like this kind of flavor but we do! Gumbo is an American dish and you might be confused of why there's rice but it traditionally is served with rice, yes, American dish does have a rice dish! This one could use stronger flavor though, since Gumbo is know to have strong flavors!
PORCHETTA IDR 135K
5-hour roasted pork belly, kale salad, mustard vinaigrette.
This is the same pork belly used in the burger, so if you only want a taste of the pork, here ya go! Porchetta is basically herbs stuffed pork belly and heavily salted then roasted for long hours, which is exactly what this is. Love how juicy the meat is and in contrast of the superb crispy skin, not hard, but crispy! The kale and vinaigrette also helps a lot with upgrading the taste. You just have to try eating all the elements in 1 bite! Warning that this shouldn't be eaten alone, I think it's perfect for 2-3 people or more if you don't want to be too stuffed!
SMOKED NEW ORLEANS SAUSAGE IDR 95K
House made andouille pork sausage, onions, mustard, mayo, brioche hot dog bun.
Yeap, it's the same sausage used in the gumbo! With it being a hot dog, you can perfectly taste the smokey flavor now. It's a typical American hot dog with caramelized onions and everything, so if you're a fan, just imagine it with a superb smoked sausage!
I realized that these are way overpriced for an everyday meal, which is why I suggested for a special occasion kind of thing. Well, I can't really complain for their pricing as they truly offered great qualities, so if that's what you're looking for, then why not spend a bit more?
